MDE is a low-pressure system with coaxial spray nozzle for fog-free coolant application, it is a commom option on XYZCAM CNC Machines, and particularly for metal processing (aluminium, copper, steel...) & tool cooling needed jobs.
Via a pressure regulating valve, the coolant reservoir on MDE is at a pressure between 1.5 to 2.0 bar. Thanks to this special design, after switching on the compressed air supply, the lubricant and the blowing air will be directed separately from each other at different pressures to the nozzle outlet, and presses out the finest coolant droplets to fed into the air flow at the nozzle tip.
The volume and pressure of the air flow can be adjusted by an needle valve on the nozzle unit. The supply of the cooling medium is also adjustable.
And the MDE will work absolutely fog-free if get a proper set. In this system, the lubricant and compressed air supply are switched on electrically via solenoid valves. Therefore, the lubrication system can be automated, i.e. switched on/off via a CNC control system.
Advantages:
1. Droplet cooling by very fine microdrops and do not spread into the ambient air throughout the room
2. The air flow with the embedded droplets can be targeted at the tool and workpiece and hardly get any overspray (coolant loss).
3. Due to the low air pressure, a small compressor is sufficient for the air supply.
